Melody Walker & a band of friends:

Raised by wolves in the SF Bay Area, Melody Walker came to Nashville in 2016 with her hard-touring, award-winning roots pop band Front Country. Post-pandemic life has her striking out on her own, penning songs with friends, playing writers rounds and doing select shows in town with a band. Tonight’s band features Jacob Groopman (guitar), Michael Majett (bass) and Kiran Gupta (keys) and Alex Bice (drums). Melody will be playing her “hits” as well as debuting new songs written with Molly Tuttle, Sarah Potenza, Shelby Means, Alice Wallace, Quinn DeVeaux and Lindsay Lou and you never know who might show up to sing! She is also honored to present two fresh favorite songwriters opening and tweening the show: Crys Matthews and Liv Greene!

Crys Matthews:

A troubadour of truth, Crys Matthews is among the brightest stars of the new generation of social justice music-makers. An award-winning, prolific lyricist and composer, Matthews blends Americana, folk, blues, bluegrass, and funk into a bold, complex performance steeped in traditional melodies punctuated by honest, original lyrics. She is made for these times. Of Matthews, ASCAP VP & Creative Director Eric Philbrook says, “By wrapping honest emotions around her socially conscious messages and dynamically delivering them with a warm heart and a strong voice, she lifts our spirits just when we need it most in these troubled times.” Justin Hiltner of Bluegrass Situation adds, her gift is a “reminder of what beauty can occur when we bridge those divides.” Her new, hope-fueled, love-filled, social-justice album called Changemakers was just released March 26.

Liv Greene:

Liv Greene is a queer Americana singer/songwriter based in Nashville, TN, whose music “envelops a forlorn loneliness that’s at once poignant and crushing.” – American Songwriter
Inspired by the records her parents played in her childhood home in DC—artists like Patty Griffin, Shawn Colvin, Emmylou Harris, Lucinda Williams, and Ella Fitzgerald— Greene’s passion for songs and storytelling started early and took off the moment she taught herself her first guitar chords at age 12. Greene is an award-winning writer and performer. In 2019 alone, she won the Kerrville Folk Festival’s New Folk Competition, and was first alternate in the Telluride Bluegrass Festival Troubadour Contest for Songwriters. Her debut full-length record, Every Bright Penny, was released May of 2020, and was produced by Isa Burke (Aoife O’Donovan, Lula Wiles).
